Lead GCP Data Engineer New Malden (Hybrid, approx. 4 days per month onsite) £85,000 to £90,000 plus up to 30 percent bonus
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a brand-new GCP data platform and shape the engineering standards from the ground up. You will join a growing data function at a pivotal moment, playing a key role in a major cloud migration while influencing best practice across the team.

The Role As Lead GCP Data Engineer, you will * Act as the in-house GCP expert, guiding design decisions and engineering standards. * Lead end-to-end delivery of data products, from ingestion through to transformation and analytical layers. * Build and maintain production-grade pipelines across batch and streaming workloads. * Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets. * Support the Azure-to-GCP migration, ensuring data sources are correctly transformed and integrated. * Mentor engineers and help uplift best practice across the team. * Operate within Agile ways of working, contributing to planning, ceremonies and continuous improvement.
Your Skills and Experience You will need: * Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer working on production-grade pipelines. * Deep hands-on experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and streaming technologies such as Kafka. * Strong capability in dbt or Dataform and familiarity with medallion architecture. * Ability to design robust ingestion patterns across multiple data types. * Experience with Terraform or similar IaC approaches. * Clear communication skills and a value-focused engineering mindset. * Experience operating within Agile teams.
Nice to have: * GCP certifications. * Experience working in regulated environments.
