The Role You will join an established data and engineering function and act as the founding specialist for machine learning and GenAI. Working closely with data engineering, analytics, QA and product, you will build the foundations for scalable ML and AI use cases across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Owning and delivering end-to-end ML and GenAI solutions, from data preparation through to production deployment.
  • Designing and building robust ML pipelines, CI/CD processes and MLOps frameworks.
  • Leading GenAI initiatives such as document processing, LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering and orchestration using modern frameworks.
  • Organising and processing large, complex datasets to enable AI and ML use cases.
  • Acting as the go-to ML expert for the wider team, influencing best practice and future capability.
  • Working closely with stakeholders and product to clearly articulate recommendations and technical trade-offs.
  • Helping shape the long-term ML roadmap as investment in this area scales.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer operating in an ML-focused environment.
  • Solid grounding in machine learning concepts alongside strong data engineering capability.
  • Proven experience building backend systems for ML, including CI/CD pipelines and MLOps.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI, including LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering and frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
  • Experience working in cloud-based data and ML environments, ideally with Azure and Databricks.
  • Strong Python skills and experience deploying models into production environments.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging directly with stakeholders and working in a product-led team.
  • Background in software engineering, with an interest in owning and scaling ML capability.
