Platform Engineer

Location: London (2 days in Office)

Salary: Up to £80,000

This is an opportunity to join a small, high-impact platform engineering team at a well-funded, product-led technology business undergoing a major technical transformation. You will play a key role in reshaping core infrastructure, driving automation, and influencing architectural decisions during a significant modernisation programme.

The Company

They are a venture-backed technology business operating in the financial technology space, building a platform that brings together complex data to deliver intelligent, long-term insights for users. The organisation works with a broad client base and manages data at significant scale, while remaining independent and advice-led rather than product or asset focused. Engineering is central to their strategy, with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and long-term thinking.

The Role

  • Design, build, and evolve scalable platform infrastructure with a strong focus on automation and reliability.
  • Play a key role in a planned re-architecture of Kubernetes clusters, tooling, and core platform fundamentals over the next year.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers across the platform, data, and wider technology teams.
  • Champion infrastructure as code and modern DevOps practices to improve delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas, challenge existing approaches, and help shape the future technical direction of the platform.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial experience building and operating Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally with Terraform or similar tools.
  • Confidence working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where change is constant.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, share ideas, and work closely with others to deliver impact.

What They Offer

  • Enhanced parental leave, mental health support, study support, and work-from-home equipment.
  • A dog-friendly office and regular team and seasonal socials.
  • Potential for equity review after probation, dependent on performance and business needs.
