Product Data Scientist Location: Leicestershire - Hybrid (2 days in office) Salary: Up to £80,000 + benefits Start Date: ASAP

The company is entering an exciting scale-up phase and investing heavily in analytics to improve customer experience, product strategy, and commercial performance. You'll join a collaborative team of data professionals who are shaping how the business uses data to drive decision-making.
The RoleAs a Product Data Scientist, you'll sit at the heart of the product and analytics functions, using data to influence strategy and deliver actionable insights. This is a hands-on role, working closely with product managers, engineers, and senior stakeholders to uncover user behaviour, optimise features, and support decision-making through rigorous analysis. You'll also be a key voice in defining metrics, running experiments, and ensuring data quality across the business.
Key Responsibilities-
Partner with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities and shape strategy through data-driven insights.

Conduct deep-dive analyses into user behaviour, retention, and acquisition, delivering clear and actionable recommendations.

Design and evaluate experiments, using advanced statistical techniques to measure impact and inform iteration.

Define, align, and maintain key product metrics, ensuring consistency across teams.

Build and maintain self-serve dashboards and tools, empowering colleagues with accessible insights.

Apply data storytelling techniques to communicate complex analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stay up to date with best practices in analytics, experimentation, and product data science.
Essential:
-
Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

Hands-on experience with BI/visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Lightdash).

Proficiency in Python or R for analysis, modelling, and experimentation.

Proven ability to translate business problems into analytical tasks and communicate outcomes effectively.

Track record of delivering insights that have influenced product strategy.
Desirable:
-
Experience with subscription, e-commerce, or digital product businesses.

Knowledge of causal inference, A/B testing frameworks, or incrementality modelling.

Exposure to modern data stacks (e.g. dbt, Snowflake, GCP/Azure).

Introductory with the hiring manager.

Technical task and panel interview (covering task presentation and competency questions).

Final interview with senior stakeholders.
