THE COMPANY: This business is in the buy-and-sell marketplace for construction materials. Engineering productivity is a core differentiator with the majority of the codebase written using AI agents, the team operates at start up speed, with a lean, high-impact engineering function.
THE ROLE: They are hiring a Ruby Developer to take ownership of building and shaping features using agentic coding workflows, applying strong Ruby fundamentals while leveraging AI tools for speed and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining product features using Ruby (Rails)
- Working day-to-day with AI coding agents (e.g. Codex, Claude)
- Collaborating closely with a small engineering team
- Contributing to a rapidly scaling platform in a growing marketplace business
You will bring strong capability in:
- Ruby development
- Ruby on Rails fundamentals and backend development
- Writing, reviewing and improving production-quality code
You will receive a salary of £75,000, depending on experience, along with the opportunity to work in a fast-growing, VC-backed startup that is already a market leader.
