Senior Data Analyst

This role sits at the heart of a leading UK financial services business, where analytics directly shapes strategy, influences decision-making, and drives meaningful change.

You'll take a lead role across high-impact analytical initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to turn complex data into accessible, actionable insights.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead on complex, business-critical data analysis, extracting and manipulating large datasets to solve real commercial problems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to design intuitive data solutions, tools, and self-service frameworks.
  • Identify trends and opportunities across multiple data sources to generate insights that support business growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within key analytical workstreams, becoming a trusted advisor across the organisation.
  • Explore and adopt emerging technologies to continuously improve analytical capability and ways of working.
What you bring (core requirements)
  • Strong experience in data analytics with advanced SQL skills.
  • A solid understanding of data structures, data transformation, and analytical best practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A structured, curious, and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence taking ownership of work, managing priorities, and delivering at pace.
Desirable skills (for the higher end of the salary range)
  • Proficiency in an additional programming language such as Python or R.
  • Experience leading analytical initiatives or acting as a subject matter expert within a domain.
  • Exposure to building or enabling self-service analytics solutions.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or large-scale data environments.
