The Role and Responsibility
The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and products on a modern Databricks Lakehouse environment, using Delta Lake, Spark, Python (PySpark) and SQL to deliver high-quality, well-governed data across the business. You'll manage and optimise the cloud-based data lakehouse, leverage features like Unity Catalog and Databricks Workflows, and ensure performance, quality, lineage and regulatory compliance. A key part of the role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate technical concepts clearly, and support delivery through Agile ways of working.
You'll mentor junior engineers, contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture, and help embed best practices around governance, access control and secure handling of PII. The position suits someone who combines strong Databricks engineering expertise with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
