Location: London or Leeds/Manchester (Hybrid 2-3 Days in Office)

Salary: Up to £90,000

This is an opportunity to join a growing data function where you will shape a modern cloud data platform, influence engineering best practice, and take ownership of end-to-end pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and AI use cases. You will play a key role in uplifting data quality, governance, and platform stability, while mentoring more junior members of the team.

The Company They are a fast-scaling UK financial services organisation operating across commercial banking, embedded banking services, and SME lending. With strong recent growth and continued investment in technology, they are building out a modern data stack to support reporting, decision-making, and future AI initiatives. Their data team is expanding, and they are committed to building a high-quality, well-governed, cloud-native data environment. The role can be based in London, Leeds, or Manchester.

The Role and Responsibilities You will join the Data and AI team and be responsible for:

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable ELT/ETL pipelines in a large-scale AWS environment
• Improving data warehousing and modelling across curated and analytics layers
• Enhancing governance, lineage, and data quality across the platform
• Introducing and optimising tooling such as dbt and orchestration frameworks
• Supporting an upcoming migration project and modernisation of existing processes
• Collaborating closely with senior engineers and business stakeholders

Requirements and Tech Stack You will have strong commercial experience in:

• AWS-based data engineering, including Redshift, S3, IAM and related services
• Building and maintaining data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Data modelling and warehouse architecture in modern cloud environments
• Git-based development and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)

Desirable experience includes exposure to regulated industries, migration work, self-service analytics enablement, and working in scale-ups.
