Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer

Remote (UK) - Quarterly team meetups in London Up to £100,000 + Excellent Benefits

Build the data platform powering one of the UK's fastest-growing tech scale-ups.

We're partnering with an exciting, venture-backed technology business that's redefining its industry through a modern, mobile-first platform. Having recently secured £30m in Series C funding, the company is entering its next phase of growth and investing heavily in its data platform to support millions of customer interactions and lower-latency analytics.

If you're an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable platforms and working in a high-performing engineering culture, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.

THE COMPANY

This fast-growing UK technology business has built a modern digital platform designed for today's users, combining exceptional product design with cutting-edge engineering. With significant recent investment and ambitious growth plans, they're expanding their Data Engineering function to build the next generation of their data platform.

Engineering quality is everything here. The team sets an exceptionally high technical bar, values ownership and autonomy, and gives engineers the opportunity to shape architecture, tooling and best practices from day one.

THE ROLE

You'll join a growing Data Engineering team focused on scaling the company's data platform to support continued customer growth.

Current projects include building a full staging environment, improving monitoring and observability, enhancing engineering tooling, and enabling lower-latency analytics across the business.

Working end-to-end across the data platform, you'll design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines while helping evolve the overall architecture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL
  • Developing solutions with Snowflake, dbt and modern orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow
  • Building and improving cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS (or transferable GCP experience)
  • Developing scalable data models and supporting the wider platform architecture
  • Improving testing, monitoring and engineering best practices across the platform
  • Working across both greenfield initiatives and existing production environments
  • Collaborating with engineers to deliver robust, production-grade data solutions
