Want to take ownership of business-critical legacy systems, mentor others, and support a major organisation on its journey to the cloud?

THE COMPANY:

I'm working with a UK-based financial services provider. They're currently undergoing a large-scale data transformation, shifting from legacy on-prem systems to a cloud-based infrastructure.

THE ROLE:

You'll join a collaborative team of 10 Data Engineers, focused on maintaining and evolving the company's SQL Server environment-a vital part of day-to-day operations. You'll work across a variety of financial and operational data projects that deliver real business value while contributing to documentation and planning for eventual system decommissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining ETL pipelines with SSIS
  • Building and supporting reporting processes with SSRS
  • Writing complex queries and transformations using T-SQL
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into robust, scalable data solutions
  • Producing technical documentation to support future system transition
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to peer reviews
  • Collaborating with colleagues across data architecture, BI, governance, and delivery

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

A successful Senior Data Engineer will bring:

  • Experience in Data Engineering or SQL development
  • Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise
  • Experience working with SSIS and SSRS
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments (preferred)
  • Confidence presenting and documenting technical solutions
