THE COMPANY:
I'm working with a UK-based financial services provider. They're currently undergoing a large-scale data transformation, shifting from legacy on-prem systems to a cloud-based infrastructure.
THE ROLE:
You'll join a collaborative team of 10 Data Engineers, focused on maintaining and evolving the company's SQL Server environment-a vital part of day-to-day operations. You'll work across a variety of financial and operational data projects that deliver real business value while contributing to documentation and planning for eventual system decommissioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining ETL pipelines with SSIS
- Building and supporting reporting processes with SSRS
- Writing complex queries and transformations using T-SQL
- Translating stakeholder requirements into robust, scalable data solutions
- Producing technical documentation to support future system transition
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to peer reviews
- Collaborating with colleagues across data architecture, BI, governance, and delivery
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A successful Senior Data Engineer will bring:
- Experience in Data Engineering or SQL development
- Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise
- Experience working with SSIS and SSRS
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments (preferred)
- Confidence presenting and documenting technical solutions
THE BENEFITS:
You will receive a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
