Senior & Principal Data Architect

Senior & Principal Data Architect

Location: London (3 Days in Office)

Salary: £115,000

An established global consultancy is hiring Data Architects and Modellers to lead hands-on delivery within major FS and energy transformations, working closely with a large data leadership team across architecture, modelling, and strategy.

The Opportunity

This opportunity offers the chance to join a global consultancy driving large-scale data transformations across financial services and emerging energy sectors. You'll work closely with senior data leaders to deliver modern data architecture solutions, shaping cloud, modelling, and strategy capabilities for major clients. The role sits within a 300-strong data organisation, providing end-to-end involvement in transformation projects and exposure to complex capital markets, insurance, and broader FS domains.

You'll lead hands-on architecture delivery while influencing best-practice standards across cloud, governance, and data management. It's a position suited to seasoned data professionals who want to operate in a high-impact, client-facing environment with strong growth opportunities.

Role and Responsibilities

The roles involve delivering hands-on data architecture and modelling solutions for major financial services clients, typically working onsite three days per week. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end engagements across domains such as capital markets, insurance, and wealth, shaping data strategy, modelling, and architecture as part of large-scale transformation programmes. Candidates will be expected to bring strong experience across at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), applying cloud-native patterns to modern data platforms.

Senior hires will lead workstreams, while Principal-level hires will combine delivery leadership with consulting capability, including client development and thought leadership. Both roles require seasoned FS expertise, with a preference for individuals who can operate as hands-on architects rather than pure engineers.
