Software Engineer

SOFTWARE ENGINEER £130,000 + BONUS

This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to operate as one of the first hires in a newly formed AI team. You'll have the chance to build AI products from scratch, work directly with senior leadership, and help reshape how a global technology investment business operates through automation and AI.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading software-focused investment firm with a portfolio of technology businesses across the globe. They are making a significant investment in AI and are building an internal AI function to transform everything from operational workflows to investment research and decision-making. This is a greenfield environment with minimal bureaucracy, strong executive sponsorship, and the backing of a highly successful global organisation.

THE ROLE
  • Build AI-powered products, workflow automation tools and internal platforms from concept through to production
  • Develop intelligent assistants, agent-based applications and LLM-powered solutions to improve business processes.
  • Work across Software Engineering, Data Engineering and DevOps to deliver impactful AI initiatives.
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure and data platforms within AWS environments.
  • Join as one of the first engineers in the team, helping shape architecture, tooling and technical direction from day one.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Around 3-6 years' experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong Python, SQL and AWS experience is essential.
  • Experience designing, building and operating production systems end-to-end.
  • Comfortable working in startup, scale-up or highly autonomous engineering environments.
  • Exposure to infrastructure, DevOps and cloud automation.
  • Experience building with LLMs, Generative AI or AI-powered applications would be highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience as an early-stage or founding engineer is advantageous.
  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Terraform or AWS CDK is desirable.
