Analytics Engineer – 12 month FTC

This is a great opportunity for an Analytics Engineer to join a growing Analytics Engineering function at an important stage of its development. You will work on a large-scale Lakehouse programme, building high‐quality analytics layers and developing your technical skills while contributing to meaningful data products used across the business.

They are a large, complex organisation continuing to invest heavily in their enterprise data platform. Analytics plays a key role in decision‐making, with ongoing growth in engineering capability and the Lakehouse environment.

You’ll join a collaborative and supportive analytics function that works closely with Engineering, BI and the wider business, offering exposure to modern data tooling and best practices in a scaled environment.

The Role:

  • Build and maintain curated (Gold) data models within a Lakehouse architecture
  • Develop analytics‐ready datasets that power trusted reporting and dashboards
  • Translate business requirements into well‐structured SQL and PySpark transformations
  • Contribute to data modelling decisions across multiple business domains
  • Apply data quality checks, testing and performance best practices to pipelines
  • Work within existing CI/CD processes and contribute to improving engineering standards
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, BI teams and stakeholders to deliver robust data products
  • Learn from and be supported by more senior Analytics Engineers within the team

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Commercial experience as an Analytics Engineer or in a similar data-focused role
  • Solid data modelling skills, including experience with dimensional models
  • Hands‐on experience writing PySpark in a Lakehouse or big data environment
  • Strong SQL skills for building and maintaining transformation logic
  • Experience working with Databricks or similar modern data platforms
  • An engineering mindset with attention to data quality, reliability and maintainability
  • Comfortable working with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Keen to develop your technical depth and grow within an analytics engineering function
