A major player in the rail sector is looking for a proactive Performance Manager to lead their Data Analytics Team within the wider Performance division. This is a unique opportunity to work with 10+ years of train operational data and help create a holistic, data-driven performance strategy across the business.
What's the role?
The Performance division covers Delay Attribution, Data Analytics, and Strategy. You’ll take ownership of the Data Analytics team and help drive faster, smarter, more tailored insights to the board and leadership teams. This will involve:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the Data Analytics Team to deliver high-quality insights and reporting
- Translating complex operational datasets into clear, actionable intelligence using Excel and Power BI
- Collaborating closely with the Delay Attribution and Strategy Teams to drive continuous performance improvements across the business
- Designing and implementing solutions to automate reporting processes and reduce manual workload
- Providing hands-on analytical support for urgent and ad-hoc business needs
- Synthesising large, disparate datasets into cohesive narratives that inform strategic decision-making
What you bring to the table...
- Extensive experience in data analytics, performance management, or operational analysis within a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated success in people management, team leadership, and talent development
- Advanced technical proficiency with Excel and Power BI (experience with SQL and R is advantageous but not essential)
- Strong ability to distil complex data into clear, meaningful insights for non-technical audiences
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the flexibility to adapt to business needs
- Proven capability in managing ad-hoc and time-sensitive analytical requests under pressure
