The Company

They are an established organisation investing in modern data capabilities to improve reporting, analytics and business performance. Their data and analytics team partners closely with commercial and operational functions, enabling better visibility into sales, inventory and customer behaviour. With a growing data estate and a clear focus on insight adoption, they are strengthening their reporting foundations and looking for someone who can elevate their Power BI environment.

The Role

• Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, datasets and reporting solutions that meet business requirements.

• Translate stakeholder needs into actionable visual analytics that highlight trends and performance drivers.

• Build and manage semantic models, including measures, KPIs and optimised relationships.

• Write clear and efficient DAX to support calculations and time‐intelligence logic.

• Work with data engineers to source, shape and transform data using Power Query and SQL.

• Connect to a range of data sources such as SQL databases, Azure services, Excel and APIs.

• Apply governance best practices, including row‐level security, workspace management and performance optimisation.

• Communicate insights clearly to non‐technical teams and support the adoption of reporting outputs.

Your Skills and Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing dashboards and datasets in Power BI Desktop and Service.

• Confident writing DAX and applying semantic modelling principles.

• Strong SQL capability and experience working with structured data.

• Skilled in Power Query for transformation and shaping.

• Able to collaborate effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders.

• Clear communicator who can present insights in an accessible way.

• Awareness of the wider Microsoft data ecosystem, including tools such as Microsoft Fabric, is beneficial.

• Experience within a retail environment is advantageous but not essential.
