A digitally-led UK specialist home insurer (200–300 employees) is entering a major AI transformation phase following recent refinancing and dedicated AI investment. A new Head of AI joined in December 2025 with a clear roadmap to scale the team to 10 and build agentic automation across the full claims lifecycle. Early products are already live, and this is a pivotal hire in that journey.

This is a Principal-level AI Platform Engineer role focused on making AI capability production-ready, scalable and stable. You’ll shape architecture, engineering standards and AI platform patterns while remaining hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate production-grade AI agents on GCP using Google ADK

• Integrate AI systems with policy, claims and CRM platforms via REST/JSON APIs

• Design scalable RAG pipelines (ingestion, chunking, vector search)

• Implement evaluation, monitoring, A/B testing and cost/latency dashboards

• Embed security, GDPR compliance, RBAC/IAM and auditability

• Partner with product and claims teams to deliver measurable business impact

Key Details

• Salary: £100,000–£130,000 (Principal level, dependent on experience)

• Working model: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in Kingston/Wimbledon area

• Tech stack: Python, GCP (Vertex AI, Model Garden, BigQuery, Cloud Run/Functions, ADK), LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
