Senior Data Scientist

Senior Data Scientist - Econometrics/Experimentation

London, Hybrid

Up to £124,000 plus bonus

This is a unique opportunity to join a newly established data science team focused on understanding the true drivers of customer value. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys the “why” behind the numbers and wants to apply rigorous statistical thinking to real commercial questions, rather than focusing purely on building models.

The Company

They are a globally recognised consumer technology business with a large and highly engaged user base. The organisation operates in a digital, product led environment where data is central to decision making. They have a well developed data platform, giving access to rich behavioural and transactional data at scale. Data science is closely aligned with product and commercial teams, creating strong visibility and impact for analytical work.

The Role

  • Apply causal inference and econometric techniques to understand the impact of product and commercial initiatives
  • Carry out cannibalisation analysis to assess true incremental revenue versus shifted behaviour
  • Use counterfactual analysis and off policy evaluation to estimate potential outcomes
  • Support experimentation design, A B testing, and evaluation frameworks
  • Develop simulation approaches to assess changes before implementation
  • Evaluate models and experiments created by other teams to ensure robustness
  • Translate complex findings into clear explanations for business stakeholders

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic background with a Master’s or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or a similar field
  • Solid understanding of causal inference, experimentation and statistical reasoning
  • Experience in research led or analytical environments such as behavioural insights, strategy analytics or experimentation teams
  • Ability to critically evaluate models and methodologies, rather than only building them
  • Comfortable communicating technical concepts to non technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with product, customer or revenue data in a commercial setting

What They Offer

  • Salary up to £124,000 plus bonus
  • Hybrid working model with a London base
  • Opportunity to be part of a newly formed, high visibility team
  • Exposure to complex, high impact analytical challenges
  • Strong scope for progression within an established and growing data science function
  • Collaborative environment with close links to product and commercial decision making
