Financial Controller

Harper May is working with a London-based technology company that has reached approximately £15m revenue and is now at the stage where disciplined financial infrastructure is critical to scaling further. The business is founder-led, well-funded, and growing its product suite across multiple markets. With finance operations currently handled across several people, the company is now appointing a Financial Controller to centralise control, establish robust processes, and provide the leadership team with timely, accurate insight into performance and cash.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will own all aspects of financial control, accounting operations, and management reporting. You'll build financial discipline into a fast-moving business, implement systems and controls that scale with growth, and become the trusted source of financial truth for the board and management team.

  • Own the monthly close cycle, including consolidation, balance sheet verification, and management accounts delivery
  • Design and embed financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation
  • Manage statutory accounts, tax compliance, and audit relationships
  • Build and own revenue recognition and recognition frameworks aligned with IFRS 15
  • Develop financial reporting and KPI dashboards to support commercial and strategic planning
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and cash management workflows
  • Lead and mentor junior finance staff as the team grows

What we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • 3+ years as Financial Controller or equivalent in a scaling business, ideally technology or SaaS
  • Proven ability to design and implement financial systems and controls from the ground up
  • Strong grasp of revenue recognition, period-end close, and statutory compliance
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset - able to balance rigour with pace
