NET Developer (Contract)

Location: Central London

Rate: £350–£425 per day

Duration: 6 months (likely extension)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join our Business Intelligence IT team. You will develop and support SMBC BI business applications using C# and MS .NET Framework , working across SQL Server and Oracle databases. This role involves both new development and maintenance of existing applications , ensuring stability and compliance with change management procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C#/.NET applications for BI systems.
• Analyse business requirements and design technical solutions.
• Write and optimise T-SQL and PL/SQL scripts for data analysis.
• Collaborate with DBAs and infrastructure teams in London and New York.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.
• Assist with Citrix and application server deployments for web and Windows apps.
• Follow change management and release processes .
• Provide occasional out-of-hours support for critical systems.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience with C# and .NET Framework (Windows and Web apps).
• Proficient in SQL Server (T-SQL) and Oracle (PL/SQL) .
• Knowledge of application deployment and environment maintenance .
• Experience in unit testing, QA , and documentation .
• Ability to troubleshoot across servers, databases, and distributed environments.

Desirable

• Financial services or enterprise BI experience.
• Familiarity with Citrix , disaster recovery environments , and version upgrades .
