Enterprise Sales Director
Enterprise Sales Director – Post-Trade Risk (Derivatives)
Location: London / Germany / Northern Europe (Hybrid)
Comp: £130,000 – £165,000 base + £300,000+ OTE (uncapped) + equity-style upside
The Opportunity
A global fintech leader is rebuilding its European go-to-market for a highly sophisticated post-trade derivatives risk platform, forming a small, specialist team (1–2 hires) to unlock a largely under-penetrated market.
The product is already proven, deeply embedded within complex trading environments, but has historically lacked regional focus.
You’ll work directly with new senior leadership tasked with scaling this business across Europe, with a clear mandate: win new logos and drive high-value expansion across tier 1–3 financial institutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning new business sales across Germany (priority), with broader coverage across the UK & Nordics
- Leading end-to-end enterprise sales cycles (typically 12–24 months)
- Selling a post-trade risk solution focused on derivatives workflows (not front-office / not generic risk)
- Targeting banks, asset managers, hedge funds and clearing participants
- Engaging across risk, operations, trading, and technology stakeholders
- Driving €1M–€3M+ deal values (avg. €500k+, with upside well beyond)
- Partnering closely with pre-sales and product teams on complex, consultative sales
What They’re Looking For
This is a precision hire, not a generalist sales role.
You will likely come from one of the following environments:
- Post-trade / derivatives platforms (e.g. collateral, clearing, lifecycle, margining)
Critically, you must be:
- A true new business hunter (not an account manager / farmer)
- Experienced in post-trade derivatives risk workflows (margin, collateral, clearing, lifecycle—not credit/market risk tools)
- Comfortable operating in long, complex enterprise sales cycles
- Able to navigate multi-stakeholder buying groups across front-to-back office
- Credible with senior stakeholders in tier 1–3 financial institutions
Why This Role Stands Out
- Untapped territory with significant whitespace across Europe
- High-value deals with meaningful commission upside (uncapped, €1M+ per deal potential)
- Backed by a globally recognised fintech with deep institutional footprint
- Small, elite team – high visibility, high impact, no dilution
- Strong internal alignment between sales, product and leadership to drive growth
Compensation & Incentives
- £130k–£150k base
- ~50/50 split OTE £260k-£300k
- Uncapped commission (large deal multipliers)
- Commission paid shortly after contract signature
- Flexibility for sign-on bonuses / guarantees for the right hire
If you understand post-trade derivatives risk inside complex trading environments and want a role where you can genuinely build something, this is one of the more compelling opportunities in the European market right now.
