The Opportunity
A fast-growing, FCA-regulated fintech is seeking a Financial Controller to play a key role in scaling its UK finance function. This is a high-impact position offering ownership of financial reporting, controls, and governance within a dynamic, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Implement and enhance financial controls and governance frameworks
- Design and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures
- Lead and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, FCA regulations, and statutory requirements
- Partner with commercial teams to provide financial insights and performance analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and scalability
Key Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
- 3+ years post-qualified experience
- Proven experience owning month-end and financial reporting processes
- Strong track record in financial controls and governance
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated financial services (preferred)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into commercial insights
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling environment
