Project Manager IT Support – Futures Clearing
My client is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Project Manager/IT Support to oversee and support futures trading and clearing systems within a global financial services environment.
This role combines hands-on technical support with end-to-end project coordination responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring system stability, supporting trading and operations teams, and working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver reliable, high-performance trading infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and domain knowledge of trading platforms and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end IT projects covering futures trading and clearing systems, market connectivity, and clearing workflows
- Prepare and manage detailed project task lists and timelines
- Identify risks, escalate issues, and coordinate mitigation strategies
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing activities
- Handle technical enquiries from trading and operations teams
- Perform hands-on system maintenance and troubleshooting, liaising with vendors as required
- Monitor system health and availability, responding promptly to incidents and anomalies
- Maintain and update technical documentation, operational procedures, and user guides
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to support business and technology needs
- Undertake additional ad-hoc duties to support the wider IT function
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical operations or systems support, ideally within financial services
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Linux environments
- Knowledge of futures trading and settlement systems, including exchange connectivity
- Hands-on experience with trading platforms such as ION, FIS, or TT is highly advantageous
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Shell, PowerShell) is desirable but not essential
- Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with system monitoring tools
- Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. FCA, EMIR) and their impact on system operations
