Lead AI Engineer

Lead AI Engineer London (5 days in office)

Competitive salary + meaningful equity Full-time

I'm working with a growing SaaS company that's using artificial intelligence to automate how property management is done across the UK. Their product combines automation and AI to handle up to 80% of admin tasks for property managers, freeing up time, reducing costs and improving communication for tenants and agencies alike.

They're now looking for a Lead AI Engineer to help shape the next generation of their platform. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who's passionate about AI-driven systems, product development and building scalable, intelligent software. You'll work closely with the founders and a talented team of engineers to design, develop and deploy new features that push the boundaries of automation.

The Role

  • Lead the development of AI models and systems that power the company's automation platform
  • Stay close to the code - writing, reviewing and optimising as needed
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to turn ideas into production-ready features
  • Define and uphold best practices for model development, data management and scalability
  • Drive innovation in AI integration, automation and system performance
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term technical planning

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI, ML or automation platforms
  • Strong technical background with Python, Node.js, cloud infrastructure and modern ML frameworks
  • Solid understanding of data pipelines, model training and deployment at scale
  • Experience in a lead or senior role within a startup or fast-moving tech environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset

What's on Offer

  • A key role in shaping the AI strategy and technical direction of a growing business
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity - share in the company's success
  • The chance to work on cutting-edge AI products that solve real-world problems
  • Join a small, ambitious team where your input has immediate impact
  • Based in London - 5 days a week in the office for collaboration and rapid progress

If you're a hands-on engineer who wants to lead AI innovation in a fast-scaling environment, this is an opportunity to make a real impact and grow with the business.
