We're hiring a Lead AI/Python Engineer to join a fast-scaling AI SaaS company transforming property management across the UK.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to architect systems, shape engineering standards, and build intelligent software used daily in a regulation-driven market.

The Company

A UK-focused AI platform automating compliance, maintenance, lettings, and tenant communications through an AI assistant capable of handling the majority of operational admin workflows.

The mission is simple: remove manual friction from property management while improving compliance and tenant experience.

The Role

You will own backend architecture and play a central role in shaping technical direction.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect and build scalable backend systems in Python
• Design robust APIs and distributed services
• Lead code reviews and enforce engineering best practice
• Mentor engineers and raise overall technical standards
• Work closely with Product and Design to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Drive AI integration into production systems
• Ensure performance, security, and maintainability

This is not a maintenance role. It is system ownership.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years commercial software engineering experience
• Deep Python expertise (FastAPI / Flask / Django)
• Strong system design and architecture capability
• Experience with cloud-native environments and Kubernetes
• Microservices and CI/CD exposure
• Proven experience leading projects or mentoring engineers
• Strong academic background (Computer Science or related discipline)

Nice to have:

• Production model deployment (HuggingFace / vLLM / Ollama)
• Model fine-tuning experience
• Open-source contributions
