Technical Lead – Regulatory Reporting (EMEA) | London |

We are partnering with a globally recognised institutional brokerage and investment bank, who are looking to hire a Technical Lead within their Middle & Back Office Technology function.

You will work at the intersection of Technology, Front Office, Operations, and Compliance, leading the redesign of critical reporting architecture in a fast-paced, front-to-back trading environment.

The Opportunity

This role will take ownership of a strategic re-engineering programme for MiFID Transaction Reporting, replacing legacy infrastructure with a scalable, future-proof platform aligned to global architecture standards.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how regulatory reporting supports evolving business activity across cash equities and broader capital markets workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end redesign of MiFID Transaction Reporting systems across EMEA
  • Define and deliver a target-state architecture aligned with global technology strategy
  • Partner with Front Office, Operations, Compliance, and Finance Technology teams to deliver change
  • Act as the technical SME for regulatory reporting, advising on system impact of new business and regulatory change
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, providing clear updates to senior business and technology leadership
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency with enterprise-wide architecture standards
  • Oversee project delivery, including design, build, and implementation phases
  • Provide L3 escalation support for regulatory reporting issues

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) within sell-side capital markets technology
  • Strong hands-on expertise in regulatory reporting (MiFID Transaction Reporting preferred)
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation or re-engineering programmes
  • Strong understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle, particularly within cash equities
  • Solid technical background including SQL, Python, Linux, and scripting
  • Experience working with reporting and data visualisation tools (e.g. Qlik, BI platforms)
  • Strong understanding of data models and data architecture principles
