Technical Project Manager/ Sales Commercial Lead – Exchange Technology

Overview

An established financial markets infrastructure provider is seeking a Technical Project Manager/ Sales Commercial Lead to drive growth of its exchange technology and trading infrastructure solutions globally.

The position sits at the intersection of sales, technical engagement, and project delivery, requiring someone who can engage credibly with both commercial and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a target pipeline of global exchange and trading venue opportunities
  • Engage prospective clients, qualify opportunities, and drive them through the full sales lifecycle
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, navigating both commercial and technical discussions
  • Lead and coordinate RFI/RFP responses, workshops, and proposal development
  • Manage relationships with existing clients, identifying upsell and expansion opportunities
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and reporting via CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Conduct market intelligence research, including competitor technology and contract cycles
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to shape solutions and ensure successful implementation

What This Role Really Looks Like

  • Complex, long sales cycles (6 months to multiple years)
  • Transition from early-stage sales into delivery and project coordination
  • Heavy focus on stakeholder management and deal execution, not just pitching
  • Exposure to a small number of high-value deals globally each year

Ideal Background

  • Experience selling or supporting financial markets technology (e.g. trading systems, exchange infrastructure, market data, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of market structure (equities, fixed income, derivatives, trading venues)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes
  • Comfortable working alongside technical teams and implementation stakeholders
  • Experience with RFP processes, commercial structuring, and client negotiations
