Front-End Test Automation Engineer - Playwright / JavaScript / Finance

We're seeking a skilled Front-End Test Automation Engineer to join the QA team of a leading financial technology firm. The successful candidate will work closely with Full Stack Development and Operations teams to ensure high-quality, reliable releases across trading and market platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a passion for building robust test automation solutions in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated test scripts and frameworks for front-end and API testing.
• Execute and monitor automated and manual test cases, analyse results, and report issues.
• Lead and support E2E automation efforts using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Contribute to CI/CD integration, test strategy, and framework enhancements.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams to ensure quality releases.
• Provide guidance and support to internal teams and third-party vendors.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven E2E test automation experience using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Expertise in UI testing (visual regression, responsive design, cross-browser).
• Strong API testing (REST / GraphQL) - automated and manual.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; Python experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux, SQL, and relational databases.
• Prior exposure to financial markets, ideally in Cash Equities.
• Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and high attention to detail.

Desirable:

• Experience creating test frameworks from scratch.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, accessibility testing, or performance testing.
• ISTQB/ISEB certification.
• Knowledge of financial products such as Derivatives, Bonds, or Asset Management.
