Main duties of the job
The Matron will be a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence in clinical areas to whichpatients, their families and others can turn for leadership, assistance, advice and support.The Matron's role will focus on:1. Person Specification
Essential
- Registered Nurse
- Educated to Master's level or demonstratable equivalent experience
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification (i.e. SSSA)
- Experience and knowledge of clinical nursing in an acute setting
- Management Experience
- Experience at Band 7 or equivalent
- Experience of working in partnership with multi-disciplinary team members
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Recognised leadership development training.
- Qualification in Management
- Involvement in clinical audit and/or research.
- Experience working in an acute surgical or gastroenterology ward.
