Job summary
Park lane Surgery are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part time basis.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a warm, welcoming and efficient service.
You will support the clinical and administration team with a range of reception and administrative duties, including answering the phone, booking appointments and helping patients with enquiries.

Job responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities
o Key Holder
o Responsible for switching telephone service at appropriate times of the day
o Check Doctors consulting rooms and Attached Staff room before each surgery
o Answer the telephone, make appointments, record requests for home visits.
o Receive patients at Reception desk, record their arrival on the appointment system
o Direct Patients to consulting rooms
o Operate the appointment system.
o Register patients for the Patient Access Online system and assist with queries
o Send text messages to patients as appropriate, via the Mjog texting system.
o Receive repeat prescription requests, prepare and process them via the computer.
o Receive and accurately record details of messages ensuring all messages reach the relevant personnel.
o Assist in the Dispensary when required
o Print patient information leaflets when requested
o Participate in data collection.
o Acquire a working knowledge of computers in the practice.
o Waiting area keep clean and tidy during the day
o Check patient toilet between surgeries
o Print appointment lists for afternoon and following morning clinics
o Check Home Visit Book and print patient summaries
Additional Responsibilities
o Co-ordinate Child Immunisations
o Monthly shopping for staff refreshment supplies
o Fire Alarms check, test and update files
o Order supplies for Nurses and housekeeping
o Check INR/DMARD bloods weekly and review appointments
o Postnatal appointments and immunisation
