Data Engineer- SAP 5 Days per week onsite - East Midlands £500-£550 P/D Outside IR35Come and work with us as we continue to build and enhance our data capability, supporting the delivery of high-quality, reliable data solutions across the business.We are currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and datasets that support reporting, analytics and business decision-making. This role will play a key part in transforming data from core systems including SAP, Excel and cloud platforms into structured, trusted and accessible outputs, particularly for use in Power BI.This is a hands-on role, well suited to someone who can combine strong technical data engineering skills with a practical understanding of business reporting needs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest and transform data from SAP, Excel and cloud-based systemsDevelop and manage structured datasets for reporting, analytics and business intelligenceWrite and optimise SQL queries, views and transformations to support downstream reportingSupport the design of logical data models, ontologies and business data definitionsEnsure data quality, integrity and consistency across systems and reporting outputsCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutionsPrepare clean, reliable datasets for Power BI dashboards and reportingTroubleshoot data issues and improve reliability and accuracy of outputsDocument data flows, transformations and structuresContribute to data standards, governance and best practiceKey Experience RequiredProven experience in a Data Engineer or similar roleStrong SQL skills with the ability to write efficient and maintainable queriesSolid understanding of data modelling, structures and transformation logicExperience working with SAP data for reporting or analyticsStrong experience handling and structuring Excel-based dataExperience working with cloud-based data environmentsExperience preparing data for Power BI or similar BI toolsUnderstanding of data quality, governance and data management principlesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
