Digital Performance Analyst

About the Role We're looking for an experienced Digital Performance Analyst to join a product delivery team on an exciting public sector project. In this interim role, you'll work closely with stakeholders to design and implement performance measurement frameworks that track user needs, KPIs, and service goals. You'll use your analytical expertise to turn raw data into actionable insights, guiding improvements to digital products and services that meet user and organisational needs.

This role sits at the heart of delivery, where strategy, research, and data come together to drive better outcomes for users.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and embed performance frameworks (KPIs/OKRs)

  • Analyse and interpret data to deliver evidence-based recommendations

  • Use tools like Google Analytics, Splunk, and Google Data Studio to visualise service performance

  • Work within GDS-aligned environments and ensure standards are met

  • Engage stakeholders and communicate complex findings clearly and persuasively

  • Mentor junior analysts and help embed a strong analytical mindset across teams

  • Ensure all data work meets legal, technical, and ethical standards

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record working in a GDS-aligned public sector environment (e.g. central/local government or NHS)

  • Strong experience with tools like Google Analytics, Splunk, and Google Data Studio

  • Confident designing and implementing performance frameworks (KPIs/OKRs) for digital services

  • Skilled in user-focused data analysis, with the ability to draw insights from user behaviour and service usage

  • Proficiency in SQL and comfortable working with large datasets

  • Experience producing compelling data visualisations and performance dashboards

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Must hold or be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Power Query

  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages

  • Understanding of data privacy and security best practices

  • Ability to translate insights into service design recommendations
