Lead the delivery of large-scale digital platforms.

A growing digital consultancy is looking for a Lead Python Developer to join their engineering practice. This is an opportunity to play a key role delivering secure, scalable and user-centred digital services used by thousands of users.

You’ll work within cross-functional delivery teams including engineers, designers, product specialists and data experts to solve complex technical problems and build high-quality platforms.

This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, giving you the chance to guide engineering teams, shape technical solutions and influence best practices across projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading engineering teams to deliver high-quality Python-based solutions
  • Acting as the technical authority within delivery teams
  • Designing and building scalable cloud-native systems
  • Architecting microservices and REST APIs
  • Driving best practices across software engineering and DevOps
  • Supporting and mentoring developers to help them grow technically
  • Working closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Managing development pipelines and ensuring smooth CI/CD delivery

Tech Environment

You’ll be working with modern engineering practices and tools, including:

  • Python
  • JavaScript alongside Frameworks such as React, Angular or Node
  • Docker / Kubernetes
  • Microservices architecture
  • RESTful APIs
  • AWS or Azure

Experience delivering projects within public sector or healthcare environments would be beneficial.

Working Model

Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the Manchester or Leeds office.

There may be occasional travel to client sites depending on project requirements.
