We are recruiting for three Procurement Category Manager opportunities on behalf of a large public sector organisation. These roles sit within a developing procurement function and offer the opportunity to lead category strategies, deliver complex procurement activity, and provide commercial expertise across a diverse portfolio of spend.We are seeking experienced procurement professionals with strong end-to-end procurement knowledge who can operate confidently across one of the following specialist areas:

The Role
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for delivering strategic sourcing and procurement activity across your assigned category area, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement legislation and organisational governance requirements.You will:
- Lead end-to-end procurement exercises from strategy development through to contract award and implementation.
- Develop and deliver category management plans aligned to organisational priorities.
- Provide commercial and procurement advice to stakeholders across the business.
- Manage competitive tender processes and supplier engagement activities.
- Support contract management and supplier performance initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to deliver value for money, efficiencies and social value outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and wider public sector procurement regulations.
- Utilise the organisations Intend eProcurement system throughout the procurement life cycle.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and key partners.
About You
We are interested in speaking with procurement professionals who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement processes within the public sector.
- Strong category management experience within one of the specialist areas outlined above.
- Working knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and its practical application.
- Experience leading complex tenders and managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience using Intend or similar eProcurement systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
