Management Accountant
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking finance consultancy based in Cheltenham.
The business supports a portfolio of ambitious, founder-led and investor-backed companies, providing them with high-quality finance expertise throughout their growth journey.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys management accounting but wants greater variety, commercial exposure and the chance to work across multiple businesses, rather than focusing on one organisation.
Working alongside experienced CFOs, you'll become a trusted finance partner to clients, providing robust financial reporting, analysis and insight while helping them improve their processes and make better business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and performance reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning
- Analysing financial performance, trends and variances
- Working with senior finance professionals to onboard new clients
- Improving and implementing financial processes and controls
- Using automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and reporting
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team
- Building strong relationships with clients and becoming an extension of their finance teams
- Supporting wider projects as clients grow and develop
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- ACCA or CIMA qualified, ideally with at least one year's post-qualified experience
- Experienced in producing monthly management accounts
- Confident using accounting systems such as Xero or Sage
- Advanced in Excel
- Comfortable using technology and AI to improve finance processes
- Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
- Able to turn complex financial information into clear, understandable messages
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working across different clients
- Proactive, curious and keen to continue developing
- Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
