Our key client is looking for a 1x ITAM Architect & 1x (Hardware Asset Management) HAM Architect - 6 months+ contracts - Remote working Job TitleIT Asset Management (ITAM) ArchitectRole PurposeThe ITAM Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the enterprise IT Asset Management strategy, architecture, processes, and tooling. The role ensures effective management of hardware, software, cloud, and digital assets throughout their lifecycle while supporting compliance, cost optimisation, operational efficiency, and business transformation initiatives.The ITAM Architect serves as the technical authority for ITAM solutions and works closely with Infrastructure, Security, Procurement, Finance, Service Management, and Technology teams to establish a sustainable and scalable asset management capability. The role commonly includes responsibility for ServiceNow HAM Pro, SAM Pro, CMDB integrations, discovery tooling, and governance frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Architecture

• Define and maintain the enterprise ITAM architecture and roadmap.
• Develop target operating models for Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and Cloud Asset Management.
• Create solution blueprints, standards, design principles, and technical documentation.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and compliance requirements.

ServiceNow & ITAM Platform Architecture

• Design and govern ITAM solutions using ServiceNow and related platforms.
• Lead architecture decisions for HAM, SAM, CMDB, Discovery, Procurement, and ITSM integrations.
• Define scalable integration patterns between asset repositories, procurement systems, ERP platforms, discovery tools, and cloud environments.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across the asset ecosystem.

• Act as the senior ITAM subject matter expert.

Essential Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills

• Extensive experience in IT Asset Management architecture and governance.
• Strong knowledge of:
• ServiceNow HAM Pro
• ServiceNow SAM Pro
• CMDB
• Discovery and inventory platforms
• ITSM processes
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Experience integrating ITAM tools with procurement, finance, and ERP systems.
• ITIL framework knowledge.
• Understanding of software licensing models from major vendors including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Adobe, and VMware.
• Knowledge of ISO 19770 and ITAM best practices.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (SAM Pro and/or HAM Pro desirable).
• TOGAF certification desirable.
• ITAM, IAITAM, or similar asset management certification desirable.

The role ensures the effective management of physical technology assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement and deployment through to retirement and disposal.The HAM Architect provides strategic leadership for asset governance, inventory management, financial optimisation, CMDB alignment, lifecycle management, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance. The role works closely with procurement, finance, enterprise architecture, service management, security, workplace services, datacentre teams, and technology suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Architecture

• Define and maintain the enterprise Hardware Asset Management strategy and roadmap.
• Develop target-state HAM operating models, processes, and governance structures.
• Establish architectural standards and controls for asset lifecycle management.
• Ensure HAM capabilities align with broader IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Enterprise Architecture principles.
• Lead HAM transformation and tooling initiatives.

Asset Lifecycle Management

• Design and govern end-to-end hardware lifecycle processes including:
• Planning
• Procurement
• Asset receipt
• Deployment
• Moves, adds and changes
• Maintenance
• Refresh and replacement
• Retirement and disposal
• Ensure accurate asset ownership and accountability throughout the lifecycle.
• Support asset refresh and technology modernisation programmes.
• Governance & Compliance

Required Experience

• Significant experience in Hardware Asset Management, IT Asset Management, Enterprise Architecture, or Service Management.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise HAM operating models.
• Experience with asset lifecycle governance and CMDB management.
• Experience of procurement, supply chain, and financial asset management processes.
• Experience supporting large-scale workplace, datacentre, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience with HAM and ITSM platforms including:
• ServiceNow HAM
• ServiceNow CMDB
• Flexera
• Snow
• BMC Helix
• Lansweeper
