AWS Solutions Architect

Your new company Contract Role: Solution Enterprise Architect (AWS) - Public Sector (Inside IR35)

Hybrid (Occasional London) Up to £765 per day - rolling contract

BPSS + SC submission required- 5 years residency in the UK minimum

I am looking for a Solution Enterprise Architect (AWS) to join a major public sector programme, providing architectural leadership and guiding the design of secure, scalable AWS solutions. This is a hands-on design and governance role, ideal for someone confident engaging with stakeholders and shaping AWS architectures in a regulated environment.

What you'll be doing

• Designing end-to-end AWS cloud solutions aligned to business, security, and operational needs.
• Producing HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams, patterns, and standards.
• Applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security, reliability, performance, cost and ops.
• Selecting appropriate AWS services and defining integration patterns across compute, storage, networking, data and applications.
• Leading design workshops, discovery sessions and solution walkthroughs.
• Translating business requirements into clear technical solutions and explaining architecture to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensuring all designs meet governance, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Working closely with security teams on design reviews and risk assessments.
• Supporting delivery teams with estimates, dependencies, risks and PoCs where needed.
• Contributing to cloud standards, reusable patterns, IaC modules and ongoing improvements to tooling and governance.
• Keeping on top of AWS updates and recommending enhancements to ensure scalability and maintainability.

What you'll need

• Extensive experience across software development, networks, or IT systems.
• Strong background in engineering and software architecture.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate (required).
• Solid knowledge of AWS services and architecture patterns.
• Experience working with delivery teams, project methodologies and risk management.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
• Understanding of database and data architecture principles.
• Experience with SOA, RESTful services, microservices.
• Exposure to Agile and DevOps environments.
