Your new company We are one of the UK's most respected and impactful charities, recognised nationwide for empowering independence, mobility and inclusion. As we elevate our cyber maturity, we're investing in cutting-edge security tooling and strengthening our defensive posture to protect the people, data and services at the heart of our mission. This is a rare chance to take the lead on a high-profile security initiative where your expertise will directly shape the resilience of systems relied on by thousands.
Your new role You'll be the technical heartbeat of the organisation's security operations. You'll run day-to-day defensive activities, monitor and analyse alerts, respond to incidents and ensure the organisation's security posture remains robust, proactive and threat-ready. You'll work closely with an outsourced 24/7 SOC, validating the quality of their service and acting swiftly on escalations. You'll maintain, optimise and enhance a broad suite of security tools, including EDR, SIEM, email security, cloud security platforms, vulnerability management tooling and threat-detection technologies, ensuring they are configured to best practice and delivering maximum protection. You'll conduct vulnerability scanning, oversee patching cycles, perform cloud security assessments, refine playbooks, support incident response and collaborate with project and change teams to ensure new deployments and business initiatives are delivered securely. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your judgement, technical depth and ability to stay ahead of emerging threats will shape the organisation's overall cyber resilience.
What you'll need to succeed You're an experienced Cyber Security Engineer or Security Analyst with a strong track record operating in live security environments. You bring deep technical knowledge across endpoint protection, SIEM/EDR tooling, cloud security platforms, identity security, vulnerability management, threat detection workflows and Microsoft-based environments. You're confident analysing events, responding to incidents, optimising configurations and working with outsourced suppliers. You follow procedures with precision, communicate clearly, work collaboratively across IT disciplines and stay relentlessly up to date with the latest threats, vulnerabilities and security innovations. Professional security certifications, either held or in progress, will strengthen your application.
