Data Analyst
We have an excellent job opportunity for a Data Analyst - Reward for our leading airline client.
Role purpose
Highly analytical Data & Reporting Analyst, working in the reward team to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Scope Solving data challenges, building robust reporting solutions, and shaping business performance through high-quality analysis.
Contract - 6 months
Location - Waterside (UB7 0GB)
Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site
Pay - attractive daily rate (inside IR35)
Responsibilities & Accountabilities Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Manipulate, clean, and structure large datasets from multiple systems to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate raw data into meaningful insights that support operational and strategic initiatives.
Financial & Business Analysis
- Perform financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis to support planning cycles
- Evaluate business performance using KPIs and develop insight-driven recommendations.
- Present financial and operational findings to stakeholders in a clear, compelling format.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports that communicate complex information effectively.
- Apply data visualisation best practices to enhance clarity, usability, and decision-making.
- Automate recurring reporting processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Power BI & Data Modelling
- Build advanced Power BI solutions, including DAX calculations, data models, and Power Query transformations.
- Optimise report performance and ensure data governance standards are met.
- Develop scalable reporting frameworks that support long-term business needs.
Data Management & Technical Skills
- Work confidently with large datasets using Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas).Write and optimise SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
Skills / capabilities
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines
- Follow-through decisions whilst maintaining accuracy and quality of output.
- Initiative, flexibility and judgement in identifying the most appropriate ways of working.
- A proactive, curious approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Mature and balanced understanding of the internal and external constraints and the business context in which it needs to be applied.
- Capable in handling highly sensitive and confidential information
- Able to always use discretion effectively whilst maintaining the required position of the reward and people function.
Qualifications / experience
- University Degree in Business/Numerical subject
- Experience in financial analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and SQL.
- Expert level skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent numeracy and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of reward practices and policies.
