Data Security Engineer Manchester £620 per day Inside IR35 3 days onsite 2 remote Until 30th July 2026 initially
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join their team on a long-term engagement. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at scale, helping shape and enhance the organisation's Data Security capabilities across a complex and evolving technology estate.The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of at least one DSPM platform: Varonis, Cyera, BigID, or similar.The Role The successful candidate will be instrumental in strengthening the organisation's data security posture. This involves scanning diverse environments to identify sensitive data, implementing remediation measures, and automating escalation and remediation workflows. The role also provides the opportunity to influence platform strategy, drive cloud-native adoption, and deliver meaningful improvements across multiple security domains.What You'll Be Working On Enhancing data security platform and scanning infrastructureDesigning and delivering Data Security services with engineering teamsSupporting the adoption of modern cloud-native architecturesEnsuring Data Security and cloud infrastructure follow latest security patternsIdentifying sensitive data and implementing automated remediation pathways What We're Looking For Expert knowledge of at least one DSPM platform: Varonis, Cyera, BigID, or similarStrong hands-on experience across DLP, Data Privacy, DSPM/CSPM, SIEM, and vulnerability managementProficiency with Helm, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, and multi-environment deploymentsExperience scanning structured/unstructured data sources (SMB, Confluence, Jira)Strong scripting (Python or similar) and SQL skillsSolid cloud experience with AWS and/or AzureGood understanding of data classification, retention, deletion, and privacy automationStrong Linux CLI and troubleshooting capability
