Datacentre Engineer

Joina leading independent technology and services provider as a DatacentreEngineer.Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data centre Engineer with a strongmechanical and technical background to support the customisation &Deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high-performance and datacentre environments. The ideal candidate willhave hands-on experience in Data centres.

• Location: Hatfield Business Park Hatfield Avenue - Hatfield
• Daily Rate: A per hour rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90/hr PAYE) OR £19.33/hr (via a Hays approved umbrella company)
• Contract Duration: 3-month contract
• Work Type: On-site
• Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Rack n stack of active network hardware, switches, routers & servers
• Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet.
• Installing power and data connection cables within server & networking racks.
• Follow instructions and providing on-site support for remote networks and systems. administrators.
• Read & follow Rack Elevation Diagrams
• Apply basic IP Addressing under instructions/directions.
• Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable)
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployments.
• Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during field operations.

Qualifications

• Must be very familiar with working in a Data Centre
• Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions
• Capable of installing & Testing Fibre Optic cables
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and high attention to detail.
• Comfortable performing hands-on technical work.
