Enterprise Architect

Hays Technology are working in partnership with a public sector organisation in Leicester city centre to recruit an Enterprise Architect on a short-term, hybrid contract basis.

The purpose of the role is to conduct a Technology Architectural review of our client's Dubai campus integration over a 20-day period. The engagement is not to repeat that work, but to consolidate, validate, and elevate it into a coherent, institutionally endorsed Target Operating Model and enterprise architecture that can be sustained over time and aligned with the organisation's wider global strategy. Where earlier activities have already taken place, this engagement will treat them as baseline inputs, subject to confirmation and refinement rather than re-discovery.

Role specification:

• Interpret and apply enterprise architecture strategies and principles, ensuring all proposed solutions and deliverables remain compliant, consistent, and strategically aligned.
• Manage and mitigate risks related to technical architecture, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and UAE Requirements.
• Ability to produce the architectural artefacts required for the programme, with strong familiarity with common enterprise architecture documentation such as operating models, roadmaps, capability maps, and solution architecture outputs.
• Evidence of navigating an organisation from an As Is state to a To Be state
• Advise on technology trends (e.g., AI, cloud, IoT) to shape the strategic direction.
• Proven experience advising senior stakeholders in complex, multi-stakeholder environments as well as collaboration across product owners, and external partners to ensure technology initiatives align with organisational priorities.
• Ability to act as an advisor to facilitate the alignment of business and IT strategies.
• Evidence of the ability to improve architectural compliance by providing architectural traceability against strategies, target architecture, principles and other guiding drivers.
• There will be an expectation of on-site collaboration, roughly two days per week.

In order to apply, you must have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience as an Enterprise Architect conducting Technology Architectural reviews.
• Previous experience of producing Target Operating Models.
• Able to produce an executable roadmap aligned to institutional strategy.
• Experience of SAP Architecture.
• Prior experience of working within the higher education sector and an understanding of UK GDPR, OfS, HESA, and relevant UAE regulatory expectations is highly desirable.
