A growing and innovative technology business based in Exeter is seeking a Temporary Finance Assistant to join their expanding finance team. Operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, the business is continuing to invest in both its people and infrastructure, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for their next contract assignment.

Your new role

As a Temporary Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
• Raising and processing sales invoices
• Supporting credit control activities and customer account queries
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records within the finance system
• Providing general finance administration support
• Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and duties

This is a hybrid role based in Exeter, offering 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Experience carrying out reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Competent Excel and general systems skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Available to start at short notice
