Finance Systems Manager
We are supporting a client with the recruitment of a Finance Systems Manager to take ownership of their global financial systems landscape and play a central role in shaping the future of their finance technology strategy. This is a senior, hands-on role that blends system leadership, process optimisation, team management and strategic influence.The organisation operates across multiple regions and is investing heavily in modernising its finance systems, processes and reporting capabilities. The Finance Systems Manager will work closely with Finance, IT and senior stakeholders to ensure systems are robust, well-controlled, scalable and aligned to the needs of a growing business.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong ERP experience (D365 ideal) who enjoys leading system improvements, driving automation and enabling finance teams to work smarter.
Role Overview You will oversee the administration, optimisation and development of all core finance systems, including the ERP platform and associated tools. You'll lead a global systems support team, ensure data integrity, manage upgrades, support integrations and act as a key contributor to ongoing transformation initiatives.The role also involves designing reporting suites, improving processes, strengthening controls and ensuring financial data is secure, accurate and compliant.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Systems Leadership
- Own and manage all finance systems globally, including ERP (D365 FO) and procurement tools
- Lead and develop a global finance systems support team
- Ensure data accuracy, system integrity and compliance with internal controls
- Oversee user acceptance testing, system fixes and new feature rollouts
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues
- Partner with IT and external vendors on upgrades, maintenance and integrations
- Act as a core member of ERP implementation and transformation projects
- Build and deliver reporting suites for senior stakeholders
- Create training materials and lead user training sessions
- Provide expert guidance on best practice system usage and process design
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and reduce manual effort
- Drive automation initiatives across finance
- Establish and enforce best practice standards for system usage and data management
- Communicate complex system or process changes to senior stakeholders
Financial Reporting
- Support the development of accurate, timely financial reporting aligned to IFRS/GAAP
- Design dashboards and reporting tools for management and operational teams
- Support financial statement preparation and disclosures
Data Security & Compliance
- Work with IT to implement strong data security protocols
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
- Act as a key contact for internal and external audits
Training & Support
- Deliver training programmes to improve system adoption
- Provide ongoing support and resolve user queries
Integration & Upgrades
- Lead evaluation of new finance tools and systems
- Plan and manage system upgrades and integrations with other platforms
Requirements
- Strong experience leading ERP projects (D365 preferred)
- Hands-on experience with finance systems, configuration, testing and go-live support
- Experience managing teams and delivering system-related projects
- Deep understanding of finance processes, controls and reporting
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
- Ability to design dashboards and custom reporting
- Experience improving workflows and implementing automation
- Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to senior stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Ability to manage sensitive information and build strong relationships across teams
- Resilient, organised and comfortable working under pressure
