Hays Education are working in partnership with a forward-thinking further education provider in Bradford to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Games Development and Esports Teacher. This exciting full-time temporary opportunity offers the chance to inspire and develop the next generation of digital creators, game designers, developers and esports professionals.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant department committed to delivering engaging and industry-relevant learning experiences across Level 2 and Level 3 Games Development and Esports programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced lecturers and Early Career Teachers looking to develop their career within a dynamic and rapidly growing curriculum area.

Your New Role

As a Games Development and Esports Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students studying Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Games Development and Esports.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that equip learners with both technical knowledge and employability skills, whilst encouraging creativity, innovation and a passion for the gaming industry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Level 2 and Level 3 Games Development and Esports qualifications.
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote student achievement.
• Supporting learners in developing practical and theoretical knowledge of games design, development and esports.
• Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Preparing learners for coursework, assessments and progression opportunities.
• Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with curriculum colleagues to continually enhance the student experience.

• Esports Industry and Events
• Teamwork and Enterprise in Esports
• Streaming and Content Creation

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess:

• A relevant degree or qualification in Games Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, Esports or a related subject.
• Experience teaching, training or delivering learning in Games Development, Esports, Computing or Digital Technologies.
• A passion for gaming, technology and helping young people succeed.
• Strong classroom, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate and engage learners with varied abilities and backgrounds.
• Experience delivering BTEC, NCFE, OCR or similar vocational qualifications is advantageous.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential for all applicants.
• Industry experience within games development, esports, digital media or related sectors would be highly beneficial.
• ECTs and aspiring teachers with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.
