IT Manager

Your new company This is a high-performing secondary school with Sixth Form, known for its inclusive ethos and strong values. The school provides a dynamic and caring environment where students are supported to thrive both academically and personally. Rooted in a values-led approach to education, the school fosters a culture of respect, ambition, and personal growth and, with a commitment to creative teaching, pastoral care, and community engagement, it empowers students to become confident, well-rounded individuals prepared for the future. Based in the Liverpool area, they are looking to appoint an IT Manager due to the upcoming retirement of their current IT Manager, and it is key that the right individual is appointed to ensure successful outcomes as the organisation grows. Your new role The school is seeking a proactive and experienced IT Manager to lead the development and delivery of the school's digital strategy and IT infrastructure. This is a key role at the heart of the organisation, responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the network systems, while supporting staff and students in fully utilising Microsoft 365 and other digital platforms. You will manage day-to-day IT operations, oversee the helpdesk, and lead on strategic ICT projects, including system upgrades and integration. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll contribute to the school's vision for technology-enhanced teaching and learning, while supervising technical staff and managing the ICT budget. From a management perspective, you will oversee an experienced IT technician, as well as an apprentice once appointed and will be fully responsible for the development of these individuals, working together as a team to ensure a high level of service is provided. The school is a relatively new build and therefore has modern systems in place, however there will be a volume of project work focused around refreshing and therefore allowing you to further develop your skills. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful in securing this position, you will ideally already be working as an IT Manager in the education sector and be looking for a role where you can be challenged, working in a high-performing school with a supportive team. You will be keen to secure a role where you can further develop, progress and grow with the organisation, whilst mentoring and developing a team. Experience working with Microsoft 365 would also be advantageous. This role would be suited to either a Senior Technician looking to take on their first management role, or to an experienced IT Manager seeking a multi-site role with further challenge and opportunity. What you'll get in return In return, you will be joining an impressive organisation which offers flexibility and further development to the successful candidate, as well as receiving an attractive salary and benefits package. The salary for this role will be between £40,000 and £50,000 dependent experience, and they also offer an extensive benefits package including a local government pension scheme, 32 days holiday (plus bank), access to a wellbeing scheme and also lifestyle discounts.
