IT Technical Operations Manager - Hands on Windows Technical Fixing - Farnborough, Hampshire (2 days per week on site) - £450-£500 per day inside IR35
I am working with an exclusive client within Financial Services who are looking for an IT Technical Operations Manager/ Technical Delivery Manager who will be responsible for analysing, documenting, and improving business and IT service processes across the organisation. The role bridges business operations and IT service management, ensuring services are designed, transitioned, operated, and continually improved in line with ITIL practices. A core focus is on environment management, particularly in Windows-based infrastructures, supporting controlled deployments, environment readiness, and operational stability.
Key Accountabilities
- Capture and document business and service management requirements (SLAs, OLAs, KPIs).
- Map current vs. target processes for Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfilment, and environment readiness.
- Design and optimise ITIL-aligned workflows for service operations and environment management.
- Drive continual improvement initiatives based on operational metrics and audit findings.
- Define and maintain environment strategies (Dev, Test, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod) for Windows-based systems.
- Ensure environment readiness for releases, including patching, capacity, and access controls.
- Coordinate environment refreshes, data masking, and rollback plans.
- Maintain service definitions and underpinning SLAs/OLAs for environment provisioning and support.
- Support CAB preparation, impact analysis, and risk assessment for environment-related changes.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Operations, and Application teams to ensure environment stability.
- Communicate technical topics clearly to business stakeholders.
