Interim Content Design Manager

Interim Content Design Manager £310 per day (Umbrella)
The role is until the end of February 2027.
Based in Coventry, you will be required on site 2 days a week.
No sponsorship is available for this role.

What you'll need to succeed
Experience of using gov.uk and Whitehall Publisher to edit, create and publish html pages
Strong proofreading and copy-editing skills
Ability to follow a project brief with minimal supervision
Experience of working with subject-matter experts or document authors to solicit advice, reach decisions, agree updates
Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard and experience of adapting content to comply with this guidance.
Experience handling lengthy or dense content such as consultations and reports
Experience of working to a written style guide

The scope of the role and projectAuditing the website on gov.uk against a pre-determined plan and criteria, updating some pages, withdrawing/unpublishing others
Liaising with colleagues to find out information to support decisions about what to do with certain pages, e.g. to understand what is out of date if not immediately apparent
Reporting progress and escalating issues to line manager
Creating and/or assisting in the creation of other gov.uk content as necessary during time in post
