We are seeking an experienced Interim Employee Relations Consultant to take ownership of a complex and active ER caseload, including ongoing employment tribunal claims, formal grievances and Data Subject Access Requests. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring a confident and commercially minded specialist who can quickly assess risk, navigate complexity and drive cases through to resolution. You will work closely with external legal advisers and internal stakeholders to ensure matters are managed robustly, sensitively and in line with legal and governance requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of complex employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, tribunal-related activity and settlementsTake ownership of live tribunal cases, including preparation of documentation, chronologies, witness materials and coordination with legal advisers. Establish clear case plans, timelines, risk assessments and actions across all matters. Translate legal advice into practical, timely business actionsSupport Data Subject Access Requests, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and timelines. Draft and review high-quality documentation including correspondence, investigation reports and outcome letters. Maintain accurate, organised and legally defensible case recordsProvide pragmatic, risk-based advice to HR and business stakeholders. Track and manage all live cases, ensuring visibility of risks, deadlines and dependencies. Escalate key issues and decision points to senior stakeholdersIdentify and implement immediate improvements to ER processes, governance and documentation standards.
Experience Required
Significant experience managing complex ER casework within the UK gained in a fast paced commercial environment, a highly acquisative environment would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employment tribunals and ACAS frameworks
Proven experience supporting tribunal claims and working with legal advisers
Experience handling sensitive grievances and contentious employee disputes
Working knowledge of DSARs in an employment context
Excellent drafting and documentation skillsAbility to balance legal, commercial and operational considerations
Ideally legally trained or qualified (employment law focus preferred)
