Internal Auditor (Qualified Accountant) - Newcastle

We are working with a large, nationally recognised business. As the organisation continues to evolve through technology and innovation, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Auditor to join their high-performing finance and governance team.

In this role, you will manage a varied portfolio of audits across operational, financial and strategic areas of the business.

You'll be trusted to identify risks, evaluate controls, provide valuable insights to senior stakeholders and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end internal audit assignments.
  • Assess business risks and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Prepare clear, insightful audit reports and present findings to management.
  • Conduct special investigations, consultancy reviews and ad-hoc projects.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and provide constructive challenge where required.
  • Ensure audits are completed on time and within agreed budgets.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) with proven internal /external audit experience and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills are essential, alongside the ability to identify risks and recommend practical improvements.

Experience with data analytics, risk management, IT audit or assurance frameworks would be advantageous.

  • Salary £60,000 - £65,000
