Jira SME/ Project Lead (Jira Cloud/ Migration)

Your new company Working for a globally renowned bank.Your new role The JIRA SME / Technical Migration Lead will be responsible for leading the migration of approximately 300 Jira projects from multiple Jira Data Centre environments into a single, standardised Jira Cloud platform across Finance & Risk Technology department. The role will oversee the planning and execution of phased Jira migration waves, ensuring platform consistency, minimal disruption to delivery teams, and full alignment with regulatory and governance requirements, including support for key regulatory programme. Acting as the Jira subject matter expert, the role requires deep hands-on experience with Jira administration, Jira Cloud migrations, and the wider Atlassian ecosystem, including Confluence. The position is technically focused, involving scripting, data analysis, and ETL-style data migration activities to ensure accurate and auditable outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with Jira leads, engineers, and key technical functions to deliver a robust, compliant, and scalable Jira Cloud platform that supports both regulatory commitments and broader technology initiatives.What you'll need to succeed

• Strong experience delivering technology initiatives, with hands-on Jira migration leadership experience.
• Strong Jira and Atlassian ecosystem knowledge (Jira, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps, Rich Filters, Zephyr, Git integrations, etc.)
• Experience administering Jira and using scripting, APIs/ or automation to support migrations and integrations.
• Proven ability to run Jira migration waves, manage dependencies, risks, and cutovers.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of risk, regulatory governance, data retention, and audit evidence requirements.
